Our Story
Our barrel horse, Smoke, was an amazing competitor and the heart off our stable. However, in the last year we noticed that he was having trouble with his front on-side knee. It was stiff and would swell during training, so we had the Vet come out and do radiographs on his knee.
We discovered not only did he have arthritis, but a bone spur on that knee too. So the search was on to find a product to help Smoke on a daily basis with his pain and discomfort. We had the knee injected and tried every product on the market that was supposed to be able to help him. We had no luck, and basically spent a lot of money for nothing.
We then began doing our own research and we began working with people from Stanford University doing research of CBD usage in horses. After all the research that was done, there were no negative effects for horses, and we discovered greater benefits for horses than we had anticipated. We began working with J & J Manufacturing in Tampa, FL on developing a line of products for Equine Athletes. Thrive Equine was born.
